The term Emotional Intelligence was coined by Daniel Goleman and relates to the set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges and use emotional information in a meaningful and effective way. It is a predictor of success in work and life.eI

Emotional Intelligence (unlike IQ) tends to grow and develop naturally with age and experience. This growth and development can be accelerated through coaching and personal development; if you are aware of the aspects of behaviour you wish to change and are motivated to make the necessary changes.

To help individuals and teams understand more about their own EI we use the MHS EQi 2.0 assessment tool. This leading psychometric provides an accurate assessment of the EI strengths and blind spots of both individuals and teams. Working with a qualified EI practitioner tailored development plans and programmes can then be designed around assessment results.

The EQi 2.0 model provides scores on 5 major scales (Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making and Stress Management) and within each of these there are 3 sub-scales providing further details and nuances.

The assessment is completed online and takes around 20 minutes. It can be taken by an individual or can be completed by an individual and their key stakeholders as powerful 360 degree assessment. Additionally, if all members of a team complete the assessment a team report provides unique insights to the emotional strengths and weaknesses of that team
